Tommy and Murdochs Amazing Adventure2013

Hi my name is Tommy and I am 7 years old. I am the eldest of 5 kids in our family and was born with Down Syndrome. Everyone says I look cool with my red glasses but they don't need to tell me this because I already know.

After I was born along came Murdoch & Maisie and a few years later we discovered Murdoch is special too and has Classic Autism. Then came the biggest surprise yet.... Fergus & Hamish, yes, another set of twins! Me and Murdoch are so lucky to have a beautiful family to love and support us always.
I love talking to people and really want Murdoch to join in the conversation. Murdoch is nearly 6 and is non-verbal. We would like to raise some money to help fund our ‘talking doctor’, therapy equipment and learning how to live a safe and happy life. We are a very active family and love outdoor activities such as walking, swimming, bike riding and visits to the park. To enjoy family outings we need to overcome many physical and mental challenges and this is why we need support.

To start our amazing adventure Daddy and his friend from work, Tony, would like to raise some money by rowing a half marathon each (21km) on an indoor rowing machine on 11th October 2013. To be part of our amazing adventure please donate to help contribute to our future development.

We will also be involved in other fund raising activities throughout the year including Riverwalk in September 2014 which is the major annual fundraising event. Funds raised will go towards further private therapy for both the boys, educational resources, programs, respite and if possible a Smart Pups Autism Assistance Dog. We would love for you to help our family achieve their goals.

We are a member of The Developing Foundation Inc, a registered charity which supports children with brain injury to access vital therapies and equipment. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible and proceeds go direct to special needs. The Developing Foundation commits 90% of funds raised by or donated to our team, to these unmet needs. The remaining 10% is used by the charity to cover credit card charges, administration and support.
