HER CONDITION

Angie has a permanent physical disability diagnosed as complex regional pain syndrome - a debilitating neurological disorder. She's completely confined to bed, unable to even sit upright, and utterly reliant on paid disability care. Her increasing deterioration has begun to affect her cognitive abilities. Despite the severity of her condition, she's been denied government disability services. The NDIS is underfunded and Angie's situation is not unusual. As she also has no family support, only donations can fund the disability care that provides her with food, water and cleaning.

HER DISABILITY SUPPORT NEEDS IN-HOME CARE

Angie needs daily in-home care, charged at an average rate of ~$40/hour. Each week, bare minimum services could cost around $1,000. This does not provide for the around-the-clock care that is needed to avoid increased weakness, cognitive issues, fatigue, etc.

LEGAL FEES

An experienced lawyer must be retained to seek permanent reinstatement of government disability services; if successful, this could drastically reduce her reliance on donations.

PARAMEDIC TRANSPORT

As she is unable to sit upright, Angie needs to be transferred on a stretcher when attending vital specialist medical appointments. This usually costs over $1,200 for a local trip.

MEDICAL AND ALLIED HEALTH ASSESSMENTS

Further assessment of her condition may be necessary to successfully request government disability services. This can be expensive e.g. an OT assessment could cost over $2,000.
________________________________________

This is a desperate and precarious situation, and Angie needs your help. Your support could prevent terrible suffering or even life-threatening neglect.

This fundraiser is intended to provide Angie with long-term benefits even after the donations stop. Adequate disability support can prevent permanent deterioration, and access to government-funded disability services could be regained through legal advocacy.
Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser!
