Tim's Story
At 23 years of age, Tim was enjoying university life in Brisbane and it seemed his future hopes and dreams were very achievable. Tim was a kind, compassionate, funny and popular young man with heaps of friends.
On 1st April 2004, Tim suffered a traumatic brain injury which left him on life support followed by a year in hospital. Although at the time Tim's prognosis was extremely grim, today he continues to work hard with therapy making inspirational improvements against all medical predictions.
At the time of Tim's brain injury, Tim's parents Billy and Jenny sold their house and moved from Rockhampton, his sister Carolyn from Sydney and his brother Peter from London. Together with his family in Brisbane Tim embarked on an epic fight for his life and for a better future which continues to this day.
Tim doesn't receive any funding apart from the disability pension, therefore he relies heavily on financial donations from friends, family and the community to pay for his therapy sessions including physio, hydro, speech, music, literacy, optical, occupational therapy and numerous medical treatment costs.
Today Tim is highly motivated towards his own recovery. He is determined to be happy, rebuild his shattered life and enjoy his future. His goals include being able to live independently, walk, talk and help other young people cope with brain injury.
Tim still has hopes and dreams and your generous support will help him fulfil these dreams.
