Annual River Walk 2010!
Riverwalk 2010 - 12 September - Orleigh Park, West End, 10am

Riverwalk is a sponsored 5km walk along the Brisbane River. This annual fundraising event helps families raise funds to provide support and care for their brain injured loved ones. 90% of the money raised by the family, goes to the family, so every donation makes a difference.
As you know the mission of The Developing Foundation Inc. is to enable people with disability caused through brain injury or developmental disability to achieve their potential and help improve their quality of life. We are pleased to say that since the Foundations beginnings in 1978 we have been able to achieve many instances of this with the assistance and support of the community.
Next year we will aim to organise yet another successful Riverwalk Event so keep an eye on this space because we would love for you all to be involved in the 2010 Riverwalk, we believe we can achieve great results every Riverwalk based on the relationships that we have have built and that we enjoy annually!

What is Riverwalk?
Riverwalk is a 6km charity fundraising event designed to help families with a brain injured person raise funds for specialised therapies and equipment by building around them a team of supporters that help them achieve their goals.
The event is held at Orleigh Park, Hill End Terrace, West End with registration booths open from 8.30am for a 10am start. The walk itself follows the picturesque pathways along The Brisbane River taking in some of Brisbane's finest sights up to the Victoria Bridge, Southbank where the turning point, providing liquid refreshments, is situated. The walk back to the park gives participants the opportunity to enjoy again the tranquillity of The Brisbane River before assembling back at Orleigh Park for a sausage sizzle and some light entertainment. To complete the afternoon's activities there will be trophies presented to teams that raise the most funds and prizes awarded to lucky ticket holders.
Traditionally, the event has been held on the last Sunday in July, but, with the introduction of Brain Injury Awareness Week in Queensland, the event will now be held on the second Sunday in September, which in 2010 will be on the 12th.
