Montana’s Update
What a year! Well we have had some up and downs. But we are praying that we are finally getting some answers. Last October till the 12th December, we went 8 weeks without any seizures. Montana was amazing. But as you all know, her anniversary date for her cold sore is the 12th December and sure enough on that day she started to seizure again. We were extremely disappointed. During that 2 months of no seizures Montana said mum, dad, no and yum. She was vocalising all the time and when I say that I mean all the time. During church she was definitely in competition with the preacher. Montana was also learning so much it was amazing. I thought that wow this is my little girl coming back to us. Rachael and Mon were playing together and it was lovely. Montana started to fight Rach for things. A very new experience for Rachael, but a good one.
Then in January Montana landed on her arm wrong and broke her collar bone, then in Feb just after her collar bone had healed, she broke her wrist. So we then had 6 weeks of plaster. That was a LONG 6 weeks. But she is now fine and well.
We had teacher-aids lined up to start the year with Montana but without letting me know they decided to work elsewhere. So now 5 months later we have finally got 2 wonderful ladies who are working extremely well with Montana. They are pushing her to achieve and believe like Andrew and I that Montana can achieve so much if given the chance.
We have just had a man called Mark Barbour come and do some training down here in Hobart on Intensive Interaction play. What an amazing man. He then came and did a morning session with Montana and showed me how to PLAY at Montana’s level and how to get her to respond to play. I have learnt a lot.
Where the next 12 months takes us we are not sure but thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Andrew, Tania, Rachael and Montana
