Hi, my name is Nicholas. This year I turn 4 years old. I also started school one day a week by myself. It was scary without mummy and I got quite upset but now I have lots of fun and I don't cry anymore. I still go to Xavier for Conductive Education 2 days a week.

Now that I am getting older I need extra specialised equipment like a hoist because I am getting too heavy to be carried. I also need a special bed with side rails so I can't fall out and a new chair because I am too tall for my modified stroller. Also I am very eager to stand and take steps which means I need a special walker that will give me lots of trunk support so I can stand independantly.

My mum, dad and big sister Kaitlin are taking me to America for an intense 3 weeks therapy program called 'The Therasuit Method', it's not available in Australia at the moment. Hopefully this will make me stronger to sit, to stand, to grasp, to make my neck muscles stronger so I can hold my head up. This is a very expensive venture and any offers of support would be much appreciated!

MY STORY:

I was born 10 weeks early. At 2 weeks of age my scans showed I had a bleed in my brain and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. At 10 months old my mum and dad were told I had Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy which affects my arms and legs and my vision isn't really clear. However I am a really happy little boy who always has a smile and loves to give lots of kisses.

But most of all I love spending time with my 10 year old sister Kaitlin - she's the best!!! She reads and sings to me and makes me giggle and laugh a lot. The challenges I face every day are to walk, talk and see clearly.
