Hi, my name is Kobie and I'm 6 years old. I have cerebral palsy and with lots of therapy I'm learning to use a walker, computer and a power wheelchair! I need lots of therapy and equipment to help me shine.

Kobie’s Story

I love books, computers, trains and ball games. Growing up is lots of fun. But it’s hard work too. I was born really early, and have been struggling with cerebral palsy ever since. I get really frustrated with my body because I can’t do things by myself or say the thoughts that are in my head. But I know that if I keep practising and work really hard at my exercises, I’ll find a way to step more and play with toys and books by myself.

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us fundraise for a wheelchair accessible van last year. It is wonderful and has made such a difference to our lives. I love sitting in my wheelchair in the van – It’s much more comfortable and I can see all the trucks and cars!

Kobie’s Needs

I love swimming, going to the beach, riding my special bike and doing all the things other 6 year old boys like to do. I need lots of help to play and expensive equipment to support me. We would love to get a beach wheelchair because I am too big for my mum and dad to carry me to the water. We could even go for walks on the sand! I need help to learn how to use my body, so I need lots of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. We need a therapy bench and table so I can do my exercises at home and get stronger.
